Beauty Wishlist!- August Closing + September Wishlist!

Hello Warriors

I am here to tell you guys how my beauty wishlist went. Click Here to see my original post on my products and goals. If you don't know what this is, it's basically every month I choose something that came out the following month that I want and I make a goal to go along with it. If I make the goal, I can buy the product.

The first product I chose was the Tarte Airbrush Powder Foundation. The goal I set for this product was to exercise everyday for at least 2 weeks. I did complete this goal! Yay! I am proud of myself. I did this through watching Blogilates. The problem is... is that I am not sure if I still want this foundation : / So I probably won't end up buying it but I will find something else to fulfil this goal, I will keep you posted.

The next thing was the Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquers. The goal I set was to read everyday of the month. I didn't complete the goal. I know! Its so simple and easy to do and I didn't do it. So I will not be getting this product this month. I may repeat it for September or chose a different product. I really wanted them but I made a promise to myself that I will only buy when I complete the goal!

Now on to my September Wishlist...

The first is the Lancome Hypnose Mascara. Okay okay.. I know this didn't come out in August but I couldn't find anything else that was appealing to me. I have been looking at the Lancome mascaras for a while now but it's so expensive. I just chose this one because it looked cool. I honestly don't care what one I get. It is $34 CAD and $28 USD.

The goal is to blog on a schedule so I am not posting at random!

My next product is the Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks. The one in the picture is Catfight but I want any of them. I'm pretty sure this came out in August. I got a sample of Anarchy and I fell in LOVE with it so I want to try more. The lipsticks are $26 CAD or $19 USD.

The goal is to use up one of my lip products. I am being smart instead of adding, I am replacing!

I know these goals are not very educating or helpful to my well-being but I couldn't think of anything else. I am really excited about these products. They are both very expensive but it's worth it... I guess. Haha. If you have tried any of these products be sure to let me know what you think.

When is your Old Makeup too Old? Makeup Shelf Lives!

Hello Warriors

How long should you keep lipstick, eyeshadow, blushes and other cosmetics? How long you should keep products depends on what it is, storage/storage conditions and infections. You should really follow these guidelines when throwing away and replacing products to avoid infections and acne.

To get extra life to your products always buy unopened products, close caps tightly and out of high humidity areas. Also keep out of direct sunlight which will ruin the products. Always avoid sharing your makeup products with other people and that includes everything. If you do share, invest in a makeup sterilizing spray.

Mascara: Throw it away after 3 months. This is the shortest life of all cosmetics because you are constantly transferring the brush from your eyes back to the tube which is transferring bacteria. Make sure you do not pump the brush in the tube, this will only cause more air into the tube which cause bacteria.

Liquid Liner: Follow the mascara rules.

Eye Pencils: Toss it after 2 years only if you sharpen it after each use or before each use. If you don't it probably isn't safe to keep it more than 6 months. Also make sure your sharpener is clean!

Eye Shadow: Liquid shadows will last 12 months if you keep your applicator clean. Powder shadows will last 2 years to 3 years depending. If you use your fingers to apply eyeshadow always use disinfectant spray or don't keep it as long and make sure your fingers are clean!. If you use a brush always make sure your brush is freshly clean before using it.

Tip: If you've had an infection throw away all applicators and products you used right from the first symptom to the last day of infection!!

Lipsticks: You can keep your lipsticks and lip pencils for 2 years. For the lip pencils always sharpen before or after each use. If you have a lip infection avoid using lip products or be prepared to throw it away after.

Lip Gloss: They say can be kept up to 1 year. I know not very long which is saddening but I wouldn't risk getting sick from your favorite lip gloss. Squeeze tube lip gloss last a little longer than the doe-foot or brush applicator ones.

Note: You can keep the lip products or face products a little longer than it says if you don't use it very often but if you start seeing build up or it smells funny or looks abnormal, you should throw it out.

Foundation: You should toss it after 1-2 years. Most people don't take that long to finish a foundation but still keep that in mind even if your not a huge foundation wearer. If you use a stick foundation and have acne, make sure you either disinfect it or throw it out sooner because of the acne bacteria.

Concealer: Can also last 1-2 years. If you use concealer on blemishes and under your eyes, make sure you use two different ones so the acne bacteria doesn't get near your eyes. You can discard that rule if you use a liquid concealer because that doesn't directly touch your face. If you use stick concealer really follow that rule. If you put stick concealer directly on your acne follow that same rules as stick foundation.

Blushes/Bronzers/Powders: Cream blushes or bronzers can last only 1 year. Powder blushes/bronzers and powders can last 2 years. This goes for powder foundation as well.

Tip: Always make sure you use clean brushes and sponges! Also to help you keep track of makeup life, write the date of opening on the product or in a book to stop spread of infections.

Remember there is no set in stone amount of time for products to last. This is just some research I have done. Many websites have different amounts of time to keep it. Some products dry out before the time is up and some are good as new when time runs out. You will know when a product has gone bad. Just be careful with your products and care for them and you shouldn't be worried.

Let me know in the comments what expiration surprised you most? If you have a shelf life I did not mention here feel free to let me and others know. Thanks for reading! Sorry for a very word filled post but there is a lot of info.

Whats in the Bag? August- Closing Thoughts!

Hello Warriors

As you know for the past 2 months I did a Whats in the Bag? series, I was going to continue for a while but I realized I am not buying enough new products each month to continue! In August I bought nothing new to try in September so this will be the end of the series. But... I am still going to share my thoughts on my August products! If you want to see what products for July I had and my thoughts click here.

So for August I only had 2 products the Physician Formula Lash Boosting Eyeliner in Black and the Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sunlight. Firstly I have to be honest, I didn't get to try out these products that much because I didn't wear makeup that often this month and if I did it was just a little concealer, powder and waterproof mascara. I probably tried each like 3-5 times... I know :( So remember to take the reviews lightly.

The eyeliner is very easy to apply which I love. I usually can't do winged liner very well but with this it's super easy. The line is very black and pigmented so you only have to go over the line once. I think it did last a long time even during the hot summer month definitely not 24 hours though. I obviously can't test if it makes your eyelashes grown because I didn't wear it enough but I highly doubt it actually works. It is kinda smudgy since the formula so wet so be careful when you first apply. As for the claim of waterproof... I didn't wear it on my eyes in water but it was on my hand and I ran it under water, it didn't smudge but it slowly started flaking off.

For the bronzer I don't have much to say.. it did give a really natural look as the name states which means it didn't really show up. I think the color is too light for me, I feel like I could use this as a powder. it has slight shimmer to it nothing super noticeable. I didn't test the waterproof claim sorry but I don't think it would last that long in water.

Final Verdict: Eyeliner would recommend for anyone, Bronzer if you have a really pale complexion if your skin is usually light or darker in foundation I would try a darker bronzer(this bronzer does have two other colors)

See you in my next post!

Back to School Outfits 2013

Hello Warriors!

Title Page

Its back to school season! For some it's an amazing time of the year but for some it's horrible! For me I hate going to school but I love the school supplies and clothes shopping. I love buying all new clothes that no one has seen you wear before and stepping into the school! Whether you hate school or not you need some cute outfits. I put together 4 outfits and each outfit fits a certain style.

This outfit is very laid back and casual look. It has a sporty look to it. This is for people that want to be comfortable but still look like they tried. The plaid shirt adds a laid back look, if its baggy it will be even more so. The jeans can be any wash you'd like, I just chose almost gray/white because it will add more lightness to the dark outfit. The converse are just simple and cute.

This outfit is for girls that love to wear dresses and be cute. This dress is dress code appropriate at most schools too! The sweater adds a little cover up and warmth but still is adorable. The oxford flats tone down the girlyness and adds some preppiness? If that's the right word. I adore this outfit

This is for the girls that don't like getting ready and just wake up and go to school.  This is easy to throw on and is super comfortable. The sweatpants are easy to move in and warm, throwing a loose sweater/shirt adds an even more laid back look. The vans are comfortable to walk in so you won't be in pain at the end of the day.

This outfit is for the more edgy kind of girl. The black jeans don't just add that edge but they also slim your legs. The shirts adds a pop of color but the design is still more edgy. The denim and leather jacket is amazing! Leather is the stereotypical edgy fabric and the denim adds a different texture while still continuing on with the edge. You can wear either dr.martens or combat boots.

That is all the outfits I have! Hope you enjoyed! I had a ton of issues with putting this up so if you enjoyed please comment. I love you all! Get excited for back to school. Get The Makeup Look- Demi Lovato

Hello Warriors

I was looking on Google and I found this image of Demi and fell in LOVE with the makeup! I decided to recreate it using Polyvore!

Get The Makeup Look- Demi Lovato

1.In the photo Demi has very bright under eyes so make sure you brighten yours! This will make you appear more awake!

2. She has it very intense so the liquid eyeshadow is perfect or you can use a wet brush to apply the powder eyeshadow!

3. Apply a somewhat thick line and add a tiny wing to the inner corner. Smoke out the lower lashline eyeliner a little bit, DON'T OVERDO IT!

4. A false lash makes your eyes appear bigger and you don't have to apply as much mascara!

5. Since the eyes are pretty intense a nude lip will not clash with it. The gloss gives you a not so dead looking look. Make sure the nude is a little more pinky than beige!

If you want to you can add a little bit of the silver shadow on the lower lash line. You can apply whatever foundation, blush, bronzer and mascara you wish. I just covered the main focal points of the look. She does have a very bronzy glowly look to her skin if you want to be exact.

To get the name of each product shown and the prices Click Here. This will bring you to my Polyvore account and the corresponding set to this post! The products are easily accessible at a sephora or a department store.

Remeber that makeup is not a necessity, you are beautiful with or without it. Learn to love yourself and be confident in your own skin. Use makeup to enhance your natural beauty not to mask your face. BUT.. Its always fun to get super dolled up every now and then! Whether everyday you go natural or full face you are still a beauty and no one that judges you really matters!

Summer Trends I Loved!

Hello Warriors

This summer there has been tons of new trends or just fashion things I have been loving. Yes there is still a little bit over a month of summertime left but all the schools are going back and the excitement for fall is in the air. I am going to share some of my most worn trends this summer. For people in places where summer is just beginning maybe you can get some ideas.

The first trend is NEONS! I love neon's they make me so happy and makes my life so bright. The clothing pieces in this collage I didn't necessarily pick because they go together, they are just a few pieces I love. Not a lot of people feel comfortable wearing neons but I sure do! They look amazing against tan skin and they are always a trend for summertime.

The next trend is MONOCHROME! This is for people who aren't comfortable in neons. This trend as been huge this year I love it! It's very simple and chic. Black and White is classic. The white also makes skin look tanner but can also get dirtier so be careful! Adding a pattern can also make it not so simple like the stripes or chevron.

Another trend as been GRAPHIC PRINTS! Anything that's bold and printed follows this trend! It can be any colors of shades and it will still be fun. I love this because it is just loud and fun and and there is an endless possibility of different patterns. My favorite are floral or tribal prints. Graphic prints were also shown in the other two trends above.

Another 'trend' is HOLOGRAPHIC! This trend is mostly and accessories trend. The trend has been seen is shoes , handbags and even nail polish! This so fun and crazy but it's more subtle, if that makes sense. Its such a cool design and I love it. I definitely have a feeling it will not come back next year but we will see.

The last trend of many that I have been loving is CIRCLE SKIRTS or A-LINE SKIRTS! These are a-mazing! They come in at your waist and flow out. They give your body an amazing shape! Again I don't know if these are a 'trend' but these have been everywhere, at every store! I definitely feel these will never go out of style but who knows!

That is some of the trends I have been loving this summer 2013. Looking back at the trends a lot of them are very bold and out there yet they are still soo popular. If you want to know where all the pieces are from check out my polyvore: http://beautywarrior1.polyvore.com/ There was another which was high-waisted shorts! They have been very in as well but I am pretty sure the whole world knew that! Let me know in the comments what your favorite and least favorite trend as been and if your summer is just starting let me know what your excited for!

Eyeliner 101! Part 2 - Styles of Eyeliner!

Hello Warriors

This is my second part of my eyeliner series! If you don't know what this series is Click Here. Today I am going to talk about the different eyeliner styles you can do!

There are natural to dramatic eyeliner styles and can be used with any color. Mostly we are going to talk about eyeliner on the upper lashline.

The Numbers Correspond with picture!!

1. A Single Line Eyeliner:
-There is no wing or anything and it just makes the lashline look thicker. This can be any thickness.

2. Semi Wing:
-This is not quite a winged look.
-It is a tad thicker at the end than in the inner corner.
found on google

3. Full Wing- Cat Eye:
- This a thicker wing
-The wing points more upward.
-Gives a good cat eye look

4. Thinner Wing:
-This wing is a more natural wing
-It is less cat eye and more of a wing.
-Its a classic wing

5. Thick Wing:
-A thick line with a small wing
-This isn't as obvious that its a wing
-More dramatic

7/8. Thick Cat Eye:
- A very bold cat eye
-8 is just a little thicker than 7
-Makes eyes look gorgeous.

Note: 6,9,10 and 11 are all more focused on the bottom lashline or inner corner. The upper lashline has been mentioned before.

If you are wondering what the difference between a wing liner and a cat eye liner then keep reading..
There isn't a huge difference, a cat eye is a form of wing. The wing gives your eyes a wing! The flick is more pointed to the side and makes your eyes line bigger and longer. A cat eye makes your eyes look like a cats eye. The flick is pointed more upward and it's usually more thicker at the end. 4 and 11 are examples of a wing and 3, 6 and 8 are some examples of a cat eye. It's not a very obvious difference.

I hope you found this somewhat helpful! If you could help me out and spread the word of my blog! I would really appreciate it!
